Saturday Quote

Dear Mr. Vernon: We accept the fact that we had to sacrifice a whole Saturday in detention for whatever it was we did wrong. But, we think you’re crazy to make us write an essay telling you who we think we are. You see us as you want to see us: in the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions. But, what we found out is that each one of us is: a brain . . .

Andrew Clark: And an athlete . . .
Allison Reynolds: And a basket case . . .
Claire Standish: A princess . . .
John Bender: And a criminal.
Brian Johnson: Does that answer your question?

Sincerely yours, The Breakfast Club.

Saturday Song

Summer officially ends at midnight the 22nd, so here’s Jake Owen with this week’s #1 country tune.

Change the word “southern” and you have Lake George!

Today was a perfect day (if you were in Huletts you know what I mean), so here’s a great stylized music video from Bob Schneider, from his most recent album A Perfect Day.

Labor Day at the Casino

With the news of the hurricane I have been unable to share the goings-on for the Labor Day weekend. Now that things are returning to normal you won’t want to miss the Casino this weekend.

Come to the Casino for the end of the summer party!! Share and hear tales of the hurricane. The Casino will offer food and drink specials and they invite all impromptu musicians to come and play!!

For a great time join friends and family at the Casino. They will be open all weekend serving food and drink. Open at 6 pm every night and breakfast hours on the weekend mornings.

The Casino will close after Labor Day until the last great gala event and Halloween party over the Columbus Day weekend!!!

The Great Martini Magic Show

The magician, the Great Martini, pulls away one chair to make his young volunteer levitate on air!!!

On Thursday evening, the Great Martini entertained a crowd in the Huletts Casino with magic and fun. Young and old alike had a wonderful time.

Friends Remember Blanche Meehan

A large crowd came out to the Huletts Casino on Saturday night to remember long-time Huletts resident, Blanche Meehan (1924-2010).

“Blanche may have lived in Florida and New York city, but Huletts Landing was always ‘home’ for her,” said friend, Larry Nash.

The large crowd had a fun evening sharing stories of Blanche after enjoying the beautiful day.

Blanche would have wanted it exactly that way!

Old Time Religion at the Casino Saturday

This Saturday, July 16th at 5:30 pm at the Casino, the Friends of Historic Huletts Landing is sponsoring John Warren of the Adirondack Almanack who will present a lecture and talk entitled:

John Warren is the publisher of the Adirondack Almanack, the author of multiple books, and a popular local historian.

His latest work is entitled: “Historic Tales from the Adirondack Almanack”

See you at the Huletts Casino on Saturday at 5:30 pm.

The Casino’s July Calendar

So you roll into Huletts on Friday looking forward to an exciting 4th of July weekend. What is your first stop?

Well if you read the Casino’s July Calendar here, you’ll know that the live band, the Plum Muffin’s will be playing at the Casino on Friday night AND you can get free appetizers while they last!!!

The Plum Muffin’s played in the Casino in 2009 and were well received. They play Irish music, bluegrass and some good old fashion rock & roll.

So I’ll post a link on the left sidebar with the Casino’s Calendar so you’ll always know what’s going on.
