Bolton’s Algonquin’s Plan for 2011

The Algonquin Restaurant in Bolton Landing is a popular destination on Lake George.

Many people from Huletts like to head down the lake by boat and stop in the Algonquin restaurant in Bolton Landing. Recently I had the chance to speak with Keith Scott, the owner of the Algonquin, about his plans for the 2011 season.

“We’re going to be opening up April 1st for five days a week and we’ll start operating seven days a week come May 1st,” said Mr. Scott. His big plans for this season will be adding a second deck overlooking the existing deck. “It will be 51 feet by 8 feet and about 1 to 2 feet above the existing deck. We have the approvals from the County and Town, so we’re in great shape.”

“The problem we’ve had is that when it gets crowded, people have to wait outside near the parking lot. Now with the new deck, they can sit and have a drink, get some light food and enjoy themselves. They can listen to music and just relax while they’re waiting.”

Mr. Scott continued, “One of things about the new deck is that we’ll also construct a storm water management system underneath it which will catch more of the runoff from our parking lot. The parking area slopes downward toward the lake and we’ll be able to catch runoff that we couldn’t catch before.”

Mr. Scott was very appreciative for the patronage he receives from boaters from all parts of Lake George. “Please tell everyone from Huletts Landing that we’ll look forward to seeing them again this summer. We’re hard at work so that everything will be ready when summer returns.”
